I’m sharing this not just for sharing sake, but also in the hopes that these stories might inspire, enlighten, or impact others so that you don’t have to go through some of the confusion that we’ve had.
So, as most of you know, who have been following our journey, we just had a baby while I have also been walking through a very confusing and uncertain battle with cancer. Up until now, we have been waiting on test results to determine what the next step of action should be, but two days ago that all changed.
As you may have read, I had a tough day a couple of days ago, and it turned out that the pain I has was not just a rough patch. It turns out that the tumour in my brain has grown and I have become symptomatic, meaning my body is now being affected by the disease in my brain.
I’m sharing this not just for sharing sake, but also in the hopes that these stories might inspire, enlighten, or impact others so that you don’t have to go through some of the confusion that we’ve had.
What I want to tell you is you is this: listen to your body! If something hurts or is off, then it’s your body trying to tell you something. In this case, The muscle control of my right arm, hand and some of my balance on my right side had been affected. I couldn’t hold things properly, type, write, or even fully walk the same way. Everything on my right hand side has become more intentional, if not a bit of an effort.
So, because of this, I have had to fast track my treatment and beginning chemotherapy tomorrow. It’s a bit of a shock, especially with little Emery now in our lives. We don’t know how the next part of the journey will go, but I am feeling strangely optimistic and positive. Starting this treatment will at least begin the fight and struggle to end the disease.
It’s so strange how our lives are filled with bright light and dark spaces, but I guess we have the light to get us through the darkness.
