What an astonishing 7 years it’s been. I feel like we’ve gone through more in 7 years than some people have gone through in 70.
The thing that makes it the most remarkable and incredible is that it hasn't been smooth, perfect, easy, a breeze, all butterflies and rainbows or even (at times) bearable... but the fact that we're holding on to one another through the the thunder, through the tremors and through the turbulence, is what has made this journey with you, by far THE greatest i have ever been a part of.
I went into our marriage with such ignorance, naivety, and arrogance - thinking i knew everything about relationships, communication, and what it meant to be a good partner. I've been wrong about lots in my life, but that is EASILY the BIGGEST.
I am so grateful, appreciative and overwhelmingly relieved that I've found someone to share life with that, not only put up with the erroneous and stupidly idiotic ideals i'd built my flawed understanding of marriage and relationships - but someone who would continue to love, challenge and inspire me to grow in ways i never i needed to grow, or that i could grow.
You make me not just WANT to be a better man, but you make me NEED to keep growing to become the best i can be - for you, for Emery, for Boston and for the lives that we touch as a family.
I can honestly say that before you, i didn't know what love was, what love could heal or touch, and what TRUE sacrifice and commitment looked like - nor how beautiful it would be. I've always believed that i wouldn't "change for a relationship, or a woman", but YOU, Chelsea have loved me so deeply that i find myself eager to change and grow so that the sacrifice seems less like a loss, and more an opportunity to step deeper into something that i couldn't begin to comprehend, until i was neck deep into it.
Thank you for 7 years of adventures. Here's to the rest of our life together.
